Interpreter (Hearing Impaired)

Location: TBD

Effective: Immediately 

Terms of Employment: 180-day position with wages, hours, terms, and conditions of employment in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Board of Education and the Danville Education Association 

General Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Paraprofessional License
• Experience as an interpreter for the hearing impaired preferred
• Demonstrated basic understanding of and use of major sign language systems (Signed English, American Sign Language) with special emphasis on Signed English
• Previous experience working with children preferred
• Associate degree preferred
• Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be able to use basic computer skills, keyboarding, Microsoft Word
