General Qualifications
- Must hold a valid Illinois Food Sanitation Certificate
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or compensating experience
- Must possess basic computer skills; i.e., keyboarding, Microsoft Word, etc.
- Excellent human relations and communication skills
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Supervises Kitchen Managers, Kitchen Staff and the daily activities of the cafeteria
- Supervise, direct, and assists in preparation of food
- Oversees evaluation of all food service employees assigned to each school
- Assists in the administration of all Board Policies, administrative regulations, board employee agreements and federal and state regulations as applicable to the food service operation
- Assists the Director of Food Service in the employment of food service personnel
- Works cooperatively with each building principal
- Prepares daily menus for efficient use of commodities purchased via district funds and through the federal surplus commodities program
- Monitors food supply and equipment requirements according to district purchasing procedures
- Prepares inventories on a monthly basis
- Assists in the operation of a quality control program as administered by the Director of Food Service
- Maintains high standards of cleanliness of lunchroom and kitchen facilities
- Assists in conducting training and in-service programs as needed
- Completes with accuracy and on a timely basis, all financial records and reports as required
- Assists in the development and implementation of short- and long-range plans and programs in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of cafeteria operations
- Attends all professional development and other meetings called by the Director of Food Service
- Maintain standards specified in Professional Performance Expectations for District 118 Employees
- Performs other related duties, as assigned

Terms of Employment
- 180-day position; salary to be determined by the Board of Education
