General Qualifications
- Food Handlers Certificate preferred
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Good oral communication skills
- Basic working knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and cafeteria area by cleaning the assigned area of work and equipment including floors, walls, and kitchen equipment.
- Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties assigned by the manager or assistant manager.
- Tasks include:

- Sweep & mop floors
- Clean shelving units
- Clean ridges, rims, and lights covers on and around the oven area
- Clean walls behind cooking equipment, in the kitchen, serving area, storeroom, and walk-in
cooler
- Clean legs on equipment, tables, and carts throughout the kitchen
- Collect and transport waste materials to designated disposal areas from throughout the building
- Assist with setting up the serving line as directed by the manager or assistant manager. This will require
lifting and transporting food up to 40 pounds.
- Assist with the final kitchen and dining room clean up for the day after all serving times are finished.
This will include putting away small equipment and dishes up to 20 pounds.
- Work extra time at hourly rate, as needed, when other employees are absent
- Maintain proper hygiene to insure a sanitary work environment
- Any other kitchen responsibilities assigned by the manager or assistant manager to ensure students stay
on their appropriate schedule
- Maintains standards specified in Professional Performance Expectations for District 118 Employees

- Wages, hours, terms, and conditions of employment in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Board of Education and the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 399, AFL-CIO
- Non-Exempt Employee
